A Family Dream

iLOLA was born in the small hours of the morning, between 2am and 7am, while our young children slept.
The world was gripped by uncertainty as COVID took hold, and our family faced the collapse of our
previous business. Out of fear, resilience, and endless cups of tea, iLOLA took shape.

What began as late-night brainstorming became a new vision for tea—one rooted in connection, strength,
and joy. For us, tea has always been more than a drink; it is a ritual of togetherness and renewal. That’s why
our name, iLOLA, means “to grow strong” in Swahili.
